I am an educator, literacy specialist, and academic coach with more than 20 years of experience helping students and adults achieve success through personalized instruction and meaningful learning experiences. My academic background includes a B.A. in English (Literature, Rhetoric, and Composition) with a minor in Linguistics, a Master of Education in Literacy Education with a specialization in Dyslexia, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership with a specialization in qualitative research methodologies and analysis. I specialize in English Language Arts, Social Studies, academic writing, English grammar, and English as a Second Language (ESOL). My experience spans middle school, high school, college, graduate, and doctoral education, allowing me to support learners at every stage of their academic journey. I help students strengthen reading comprehension, literary analysis, critical thinking, research skills, written communication, and grammar. I also work extensively with English Language Learners, supporting vocabulary development, language acquisition, reading fluency, and academic writing. I provide tutoring for AP Literature and Composition, AP Language and Composition, AP World History, and AP United States History (APUSH), as well as ACT and SAT Reading and Writing preparation. My test preparation focuses on content mastery, strategy development, and confidence building. In addition, I offer writing coaching from the high school through doctoral levels. I provide guidance and feedback on academic essays, research papers, college application essays, theses, dissertations, and scholarly writing projects. Areas of Expertise: English Language Arts • English Grammar • ESL/ELL Support • Social Studies • AP Literature • AP Language • AP World History • AP U.S. History • ACT Preparation • SAT Reading & Writing • Academic Writing • College Essays • Graduate & Doctoral Writing Support • Research Methods & Qualitative Analysis

I earned a 36 ACT superscore and have previous tutoring experience in English and AP History. I’m comfortable helping students with strategies across all four ACT sections, especially when it comes to pacing and time management. When I was preparing for the ACT myself, I took a lot of practice tests and found that learning how to work efficiently was just as important as knowing the material, especially because the ACT moves so quickly. I try to make tutoring feel personalized rather than one-size-fits-all. Every student has different strengths, challenges, and goals, so I like to start by figuring out where they are losing points and what is making certain sections difficult for them. From there, I build a study plan around their needs and adjust my approach as we go. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and to leave each session with strategies they can actually use on their own. I offer support for: - ACT Math - ACT Reading - ACT Writing - ACT Science - AP English Language - AP US History - AP World History - AP English Literature

I can coach you in all aspects of English, increasing your English level with tangible, reachable outcomes. Do you need to push for that IBDP 7 score on the paper? Do you have an IELTS exam coming up? Maybe you just need someone to help unleash your academic writing voice or refine your research and citation skills. If you want friendly, effective, customized English tuition for middle, high school, and college-level writing, then look no further. I offer support for: - IB English - Personal Academic Writing - Competition Writing - ESL
