Getting started
What can I study and how do I choose a tutor?
Haddee offers one-on-one online academic tutoring and SAT & ACT preparation. Browse Find a tutor, compare tutors' classes, experience, reviews, and availability, and choose someone who fits your learning goals.
Do I need an account and can parents have their own login?
You can browse tutors, available times, and packages without an account. A student account is required to purchase hours, book sessions, or message a tutor. Students must be at least 13; children under 13 cannot participate through another person's account.
There is no separate parent login. Students aged 13–17 provide a parent or guardian's name and email, and that contact receives account information and purchase receipts. Students must use funds and payment methods they are authorized to use and obtain any additional adult permission required in their location. At checkout, students under 18 confirm that their parent or guardian authorized the purchase. A contact entry, receipt, or student statement does not itself make a parent the purchaser or bind them to the Terms. Contact hello@haddee.com to correct a parent contact or discuss an account or payment concern.
Trials and class hours
Can I try a tutor before buying a package?
Yes. Trials are optional, 30-minute sessions. The booking page shows the current price in US dollars before you pay.
You may complete one trial for each eligible tutor and class offering. If you already have at least 0.5 hours for that class, you can use those hours for an eligible trial instead of making another payment.
How do I book a trial?
- Open your chosen tutor's profile and select the class offering.
- Under Session length, choose Trial · 30 min.
- Select an available date and time, then review the tutor, class, duration, and time zone.
- Follow the payment or credit-confirmation step and check that the session appears in My bookings.
Selecting a time does not reserve it before confirmation. If payment succeeds but the time is no longer available, your trial credit remains available for another eligible tutor or time in that class. If you prefer a refund before using that credit, contact hello@haddee.com under the Terms of Service.
How do packages and class hours work and do they expire?
A package contains prepaid hours for the specific class offerings listed in that package. For example, Tutoring hours can book Tutoring, and SAT & ACT Prep hours can book SAT & ACT Prep. A package containing both keeps a separate balance for each; hours do not transfer between class offerings.
A 60-minute session uses 1 hour of its class balance; a 90-minute session uses 1.5 hours. Paid hours never expire. Buying a package does not reserve a particular tutor or appointment.
Can I buy more hours or use a different tutor?
After your first package purchase, you can buy additional class hours in half-hour increments. Buying a trial alone does not unlock additional-hours purchases.
You can book the same tutor again or choose another available tutor who offers the class your hours belong to. You do not need to stay with your trial tutor.
Scheduling and attending
How do I schedule a regular session and how far ahead can I book?
Open a tutor's profile, select the class offering, choose an available Session length, and pick a date and time. Review the details and confirm using the matching class hours. Sessions can be booked at least 24 hours and up to four weeks ahead, subject to availability.
If you need more hours, follow Get hours to purchase them, then return to review and confirm the booking. Buying hours alone does not book your selected time.
Which time zone am I seeing?
When signed in, times are shown in the time zone saved in your profile. Check that setting before booking, especially when traveling. Before signing in, the site uses your device's time zone.
Your tutor sees the same session in their own time zone. Changing a time-zone setting does not move a confirmed session to a different moment.
Can I message a tutor or ask for another time?
Yes. Sign in and use Message directly on the tutor's profile to discuss your needs or availability. If you have the required class hours or eligible trial credit, Request more availability lets you propose up to three times.
Sending a proposal does not reserve a slot. When the recipient accepts and confirms a proposed time, the session is booked and your class hours or trial credit are used. Proposed bookings follow the same 24-hour-to-four-week booking window.
Where do I join my online session?
Open My bookings → Your sessions and select Join meeting for your session. Sessions take place on Zoom or Google Meet. Use Copy link if you want to open the full meeting link on another device.
Use the current link in your dashboard if your tutor has updated it. Check your camera, microphone, and internet connection before the session starts.
Can I reschedule or cancel a session?
Changes must be made at least 24 hours before the original session starts. Rescheduling within 24 hours is not permitted. To change a session, cancel the original booking from My bookings, then book a new time. The replacement session must also be at least 24 hours away and within the four-week booking window.
Cancellation rules apply to regular sessions and trials:
- At least 24 hours before the start: the hours or trial credit return to the balance used for the booking.
- Less than 24 hours before the start: you can cancel, but the hours or trial credit are normally forfeited.
- Initial booking grace period: cancelling within one hour of making a booking, before the session begins, returns the hours or trial credit. This is a cancellation exception, not a late-rescheduling option.
Returned hours or trial credit are not an automatic cash refund. If a genuine emergency prevents attendance, email hello@haddee.com promptly, preferably within 72 hours after cancellation or the missed session, for review. If circumstances delayed your report, explain them so we can consider it. Approval is not automatic. If you simply miss a session, its hours are normally used for the reserved time.
What if my tutor cancels or the session cannot take place?
If your tutor cancels, your session's hours or trial credit return regardless of timing. You may choose a new booking; you do not have to accept replacement times the tutor offers.
If your tutor does not attend, the meeting link fails, or a significant technical problem interrupts the session, contact hello@haddee.com promptly, preferably within 72 hours after the scheduled end. Include the tutor, date, time zone, and a short description. If circumstances delayed your report, explain them so we can consider it. We review what happened and the instruction delivered to determine the appropriate return of hours or other remedy under the Terms of Service.
Payments and support
Which payment methods and currency can I use?
Online payments are processed through Stripe in US dollars. Supported methods include credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, Alipay, and WeChat Pay. Link may also let eligible customers pay from a bank account. We accept these bank-funded payments through Link. The options displayed at checkout depend on your device, location, and payment eligibility.
To pay through Zelle, contact hello@haddee.com first for instructions. Zelle is arranged through support and is not an online checkout option. Direct bank transfers outside Link are not offered.
Can I get a refund?
Ordinary purchases are final, and there is no general change-of-mind cash refund for unused hours. Cancelling a session on time normally returns its hours or trial credit to your account rather than refunding the purchase.
Exceptions include those in our Terms of Service and applicable law, such as an unused paid trial when its selected appointment could not be confirmed, or purchased tutoring we cannot reasonably provide. Email hello@haddee.com about refunds, duplicate charges, or billing errors before using the affected credit.
I paid but my hours or booking are missing. What should I do?
Check the payment-confirmation page, your class-hour balances, and My bookings. A package purchase adds hours; you still need to confirm a session. A paid trial whose chosen time became unavailable may appear as available trial credit instead of a booking.
If a confirmed payment is still missing, email hello@haddee.com with your account email and receipt or payment reference before paying again. For a Zelle payment, contact support to confirm the matching credit. Do not include full card or bank details.
How do I get account help or report a safety concern?
Email hello@haddee.com or call +1-858-449-9689. For help with a tutor conversation, choose Get an admin involved in Messages. For cancellation, attendance, or billing reviews, email support so the team can identify the affected session or purchase.
For sign-in trouble, use Forgot password? on the sign-in page, and check spam if an email is missing. For technical problems, include the affected page, approximate time and time zone, and what happened. A screenshot can help, but hide private information and never send passwords or verification codes.
You can also use our contact form to send the Haddee team a message without opening an email app. Choose a reason, provide your contact details, and describe what you need help with.
Joining and setting up
How do I join using an invitation?
Tutors join by invitation. Open the link sent by Haddee and create a password, or choose Continue with Google using the invited email address. Public Get started signup is for students. Tutors outside the US can also complete onboarding; confirm your country and payout eligibility with Haddee before teaching.
Invitations are valid for seven days. If yours has expired, you used the wrong email, or you accidentally created a student account, email hello@haddee.com for help. If you are interested in tutoring but have not received an invitation, contact the same address.
What do I need to finish onboarding?
The current onboarding form requires:
- The country where you live and teach, plus your display-name choice and scheduling time zone.
- A valid Zoom or Google Meet link.
- A mobile contact number. US-based tutors must verify a US mobile number with a texted code; tutors outside the US save a valid contact number without SMS verification.
- A confirmed Veem payout email.
- Your home address in your selected country. If it cannot be confirmed automatically, submit it for review.
- At least one weekly availability block.
- Review the linked Terms of Service and Educator Agreement, check both agreement boxes, and select Agree and finish setup. Text alerts require separate, optional SMS consent.
Your headline and biography are optional and appear publicly as soon as you save. Teacher tools unlock after required setup is complete. An address awaiting review may allow you to finish onboarding, but payouts wait until it is approved. Contact hello@haddee.com if you need help with country or payout eligibility.
Why am I not visible or bookable after onboarding?
The Haddee team must assign you at least one approved class before your profile becomes public. New bookings also require an active class offering, posted availability within the booking window, and no pause on new bookings.
Contact hello@haddee.com if setup is complete but you still have no class assignment. Students can book from 24 hours to four weeks ahead, so availability outside that window will not create a bookable time today.
How do I update my profile or class description?
Use Edit profile for your profile details and photo, and My classes in the navbar for your class descriptions. Changes to your public photo, headline, biography, or class description appear as soon as you save or upload, without prior admin approval. Haddee admins can edit or remove content afterward when needed.
Haddee manages class names, student-facing prices, and available session lengths. Contact the team if you want to offer another class. Updating your meeting link changes the link students should use for future sessions.
If you move, update Country where you live and teach and your address. Changing country clears the previous address approval and turns off text alerts. Your scheduling time zone is a separate setting, and existing bookings keep their original times. Returning to the US requires fresh US phone verification and enrollment if you want texts.
Availability and sessions
How do I set weekly hours and exceptions?
Open Availability. Use Schedules for regular weekly hours, Date-specific hours for a particular date, and Advanced settings for holidays.
Your availability uses your saved time zone. Check it before saving, especially if you move. Changing your time zone does not move confirmed sessions to a different moment.
What happens to existing sessions when I change availability or pause bookings?
Confirmed sessions remain scheduled when you edit availability, block a holiday, or use Pause new bookings in your profile. Review any conflicts shown before saving, and cancel an affected session separately if you cannot teach it.
Pausing new bookings stops new bookings and time proposals and withdraws your open proposals. Existing conversations remain available. Resuming bookings does not restore withdrawn proposals.
Where do I see and join my sessions?
Open My dashboard → Your sessions and choose List or Calendar. Use the meeting link for your session to open Zoom or Google Meet.
Keep your saved meeting link working and check your equipment before the session. Students use the current meeting link from their booking dashboard.
How do cancellations and replacement times work?
To cancel, open My dashboard → Your sessions → Upcoming, select Cancel, and follow the prompts. Students receive their hours or trial credit back when you cancel, regardless of timing. You can also remove the cancelled time from your availability and optionally offer replacement times.
For student-requested changes, the original session must be at least 24 hours away. Rescheduling within 24 hours of that session is not permitted; a late cancellation follows the cancellation rules instead. Every replacement booking must also be at least 24 hours and no more than four weeks away. Confirmed sessions are cancelled and rebooked, not moved directly.
Students and communication
How do messages and time proposals work?
Use Messages to reply to students and discuss scheduling. Students can start a conversation from your profile. Within a scheduling conversation, you can accept proposed times, suggest alternatives, reject a proposal, or withdraw your own open proposal.
Sending a proposal does not reserve a slot. Accepting and confirming it creates a booking and uses the student's class hours or trial credit. Review the class, session length, and local time before confirming. Either participant can use Get an admin involved for help with the conversation.
What if a student misses a session or I cannot deliver it?
A student who misses a session normally uses the hours reserved for it. You do not need to mark the student absent in Haddee or contact support solely to record the absence. If there is a dispute, technical interruption, or other problem affecting delivery, contact hello@haddee.com with the session details and a short account of what happened.
If you cannot teach a future session, cancel it promptly and let the student know. Teacher cancellations and confirmed teacher no-shows are not paid. Disputed compensation is reviewed under the Educator Agreement; a student refund does not automatically determine the outcome for compensation already earned.
Which notifications can I manage and is phone verification required?
US-based tutors: verify a US mobile number during onboarding. Verification does not enroll you in optional text alerts.
Tutors outside the US: save a valid mobile contact number without a texted code. Text alerts are unavailable; use email and in-app notifications.
Use Notification settings to manage the channels available to you. Essential account, booking, cancellation, and payment emails remain on. Eligible US tutors must separately opt in to recurring text alerts; payout texts require an additional selection. Turning all text alerts off withdraws consent. To restart after texting STOP, text START or UNSTOP to the sending number, then return to Notification settings and choose I agree — enable texts after reviewing the disclosure. START alone does not restart alerts. You will need to select payout texts separately again. For help, contact hello@haddee.com and see the SMS Terms.
Earnings and help
How and when am I paid and why might a payout be pending?
Open Earnings to see Coming up, This month so far, Awaiting payout, and Paid to date. Payouts generally run on or around the eighth of each month for the prior month's completed and payable sessions.
The account workflow uses your confirmed Veem email and approved home address in your selected country. An address awaiting review can leave payouts pending even after onboarding is complete. Address approval does not by itself confirm that your Veem account can receive payments in your country. Contact hello@haddee.com about an overdue or disputed amount, a rate question, or country-specific payout options; the Educator Agreement describes the applicable payment terms.
Where can I see reviews or raise a concern?
Open My dashboard, then select the Reviews tab. You can view reviews, but the platform does not currently offer a teacher-reply feature. Email hello@haddee.com if you believe a review violates Haddee's rules or needs staff attention.
How do I get login help or report a technical or safety issue?
Email hello@haddee.com or call +1-858-449-9689. Use Forgot password? on the sign-in page to reset your password. For help with a student conversation, select Get an admin involved in Messages.
Include the affected page or session, approximate time and time zone, and a short description. Redact private information from screenshots and never send passwords, verification codes, or full payment details. Report safety concerns promptly; if someone is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency service first.
You can also use our contact form to send the Haddee team a message without opening an email app. Choose a reason, provide your contact details, and describe what you need help with.
