Haddee began during the COVID-19 pandemic as the H.O.T. project—Help Our Teachers. Founder Dandan Pan saw schools close and teaching hours disappear, affecting educators professionally, financially, and socially.
In 2020, six interns helped define and build the first platform. Haddee launched its first class on January 23, 2021. Haddee carries that forward through its amazing educational support.
The name and logo
Haddee is Dandan's family dog. Emily, who was 14 when she designed the original wordmark and is now at MIT, shaped the letter “a” as Haddee's head. The name brings the same warmth the family associates with Haddee at home.
